A Journey Toward Creation
My Painting Process.
Modern abstract art with acrylic on linen, large-scale works include realism, figure, and form. Paintings are curated from photography and using Adobe Photoshop to enhance visual elements, bringing to life a sense of mystery.
I use many layers for my subjects and use different transparency layers for glazing. This technique helps to create a dramatic setting by painting soft-lit skin tone values for depth and balance of my subject to catch the right light.
My overall composites vary utilizing visual principles of dominance, proximity, and scale. My workflow can take up to many months to complete a piece or to be ready for the finishing details to be set in place.
It can take around twenty-five mock-ups to achieve the rendered look and visual appeal by adjusting the color, and saturation levels, and creating the story for the target audience.
My process has changed over time, however, this method has continually allowed for a consistent workflow that encourages multiple pieces to be laid out at a time.
